American Elections

New York City, USA 2016

The morning of November 8, 2016, started like any other. I had just arrived at the studio where I was working as a photo intern at Umbra Ltd. Then, out of nowhere, a close friend messaged me: “Wanna drive down to New York to cover the election tomorrow?” A 12 hour drive? I couldn’t pass it up. This was a historic moment, and I had the chance to capture a piece of it.

By the time we hit the streets of New York, the city was alive with emotion. Under the bright lights of Times Square, people gathered—some hopeful, some reflective, others tense. The air buzzed with the weight of what was happening, and every face told a different story. Photographing these moments wasn’t just about capturing the visuals; it was about documenting a nation at a crossroads, the raw energy of a pivotal moment, and the diverse perspectives that define it.
